Towns that have signed up for digital records
Digital exchanges enable the local authority (commune) to transmit vital-records data to another local authority in a completely paperless way.
When applying for a passport and/or national identity card, you will no longer have to present your birth certificate if you were born in a commune involved in the records digitisation process.

If you are French and were born in Paris, you no longer need to provide a birth certificate when applying for a passport and/or national identity card. This applies to all arrondissements.
